The Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT) led by Captain Vallence Rambharat has confirmed that Deodath “Richard” Ramkissoon has been found alive.
Loop News was reliably informed that Ramkissoon was dropped off on the Manzanilla Road between 4am and 5am.
After asking for help, the former doubles vendor contacted police and told the story of his disappearance.
Ramkissoon confirmed that he went to drop off his workers in San Juan on Thursday night. He was driving along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (CRH) en route to his home at Orange Grove Trace, Pasea Extension, St Augustine when he said his car was hit by a truck.
After pulling to the side to inspect the damage, a bag was allegedly pulled over his head and he was forced into said vehicle.
After driving for roughly 30 minutes, Ramkissoon said he was taken to a house where he was asked for the money he received from selling his vehicle. The man’s abductors claimed to know he sold a Mercedes Benz but he said he didn’t.
They also asked for a contact number to request a ransom but Ramkissoon said he didn’t have one as he left his phone at home. Meanwhile, he had $13,000 in his pocket which they took.
Additionally, he told investigators that while he was in captivity he was given two bottles of water and three hops bread. He was dropped off days later.
Ramkissoon’s relatives became worried when he failed to return home on Thursday night prompting them to report him missing.
His rental was recovered abandoned near the Immigration Detention Centre.
On Sunday, a $20,000 reward was offered by relatives for information leading to his safe return.
This is a developing story and will be updated once more information becomes available.
