Trinidad and Tobago sprinter clocked a season’s best 44.18 seconds to finish third in the men’s 400m at the London Athletics Meet on Saturday.
The Point Fortin speedster finished behind Matthew Hudson Smith (43.74) of Great Britain, and Vernon Norwood (44.10) of the USA.
Former Olympic 400m champion Kirani James was fifth in 44.38 seconds.
Richards has raced four times over the distance in 2024 with his 44.72 seconds at the National Championships in June previously being his best for the season.
Richards has attained the qualification standards to compete in the 200m and the 400m at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
He is also set to compete in the 4x400m relay at the Olympics.
Richards made it to the 400m final at the 2020 Olympics and competed in the 4x400m final at the same Summer Games.
