National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) has announced several leadership changes, including the addition of former Scotiabank executive, Perrin Gayle.
NCB said the recent adjustments are part of its continued efforts to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer service, and grow its market share.
Perrin Gayle has joined NCBJ as executive vice president of retail banking on January 27, 2024. Gayle assumes responsibility for Sheree Martin’s previous portfolio, including retail banking, wealth distribution, payments and digital channels, and group marketing and communications.
He will also have oversight of NCB Insurance Agency and Fund Managers Limited.
Before joining NCB, Gayle served at Scotia for over a decade with his most recent role there being executive vice president of retail and small business banking.
Meanwhile, Sheree Martin, currently executive vice president for retail banking, will transition to the role of EVP – chief operating officer. Martin will now oversee group information technology, group underwriting and credit support, enterprise operations, enterprise information management, and supply chain management.
In addition, NCBJ has appointed Saravanan Thangavelu as its chief technology officer. Thangavelu will head the group information technology division, managing global delivery, platform development, IT consulting, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital transformation. With more than 30 years of experience overseeing large-scale technology projects in over 45 countries, he brings a wealth of expertise to the role.
According to NCBJ’s CEO, Bruce Bowen, these leadership changes are part of NCBJ’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and improve the customer experience, while positioning the organisation for future growth.
“These leadership appointments are a key step in positioning NCBJ for sustainable growth while improving the way we serve our customers and stakeholders,” Bowen noted. “Sheree, Perrin, and Saravanan bring the skills and experience required to strengthen our operations and drive the next phase of our strategy. I am confident that their contributions will help us deliver even greater value as we build a stronger and more resilient organisation.”
