At a time when medical supplies and services are in high demand, Welfor Medical continues to prioritise the people and communities they serve.

Launched in 2017, Welfor Medical’s CEO Christian Aboud said the company, which provides biomedical supplies and biomedical engineering services, continues to focus on a personalised approach to healthcare.

“I started Welfor Medical in 2017, it was due in part to my observations of the medical health system. I thought that there was a way to create a business that would not only be able to grow but also help the community.”

Aboud said the company initially began with the goal of providing equipment for both home healthcare and hospital care.

The company is now a key supplier of medical equipment, providing top-of-the-line, quality tested and approved medical equipment for a range of clients inclusive of nationwide delivery for online purchases.

“Right at the beginning we started off with supplying biomedical engineering services as well as supplies for the general public.

“One of the things that’s key at Welfor Medical is no matter the situation, our focus is always on health. We always think from a medical perspective with the client’s health in mind, and we always look at the patient first before the business.”

Indeed, Aboud said the company’s name, Welfor Medical, came about due to an emphasis on the wellness of both the body and mind.

“Having a purpose in life, being with family and friends, having career goals, it’s important. We want to live as long as we can and spend as much time as we can with those we love. When thinking of a name for the company I thought, what are we trying to be well for? What’s the purpose of being healthy? So the idea is about being well not just for ourselves but, also, so we can also be there for our loved ones and our communities. To be well for the future, and that’s where the idea for the name comes from.”

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has strived to continue its ethical approach to wellness.

Aboud emphasised the company’s adherence to an ethical approach to profit, especially in the face of pandemic price-gouging.

“During the pandemic we always kept in mind the needs of the general public as best we could. I remember at a point in time there was a shortage of disinfectant and hand sanitisers, and we sought to not only provide these but maintain reasonable prices.”

“Yes it was an opportunity for our business to grow but it was also an opportunity to maintain an ethical approach to business which customers will remember, where we could not only provide these supplies but also be seen as a business they can trust.”

“We’ve formed incredible relationships with a range of industries who look to us not only for support but also for guidance.”

An example of this is the company’s range of non-toxic sanitisers and disinfectants, which don’t contain harsh chemicals like some popular cleaning agents.

“Most people think once there’s alcohol in the product they’re good. However, that’s not the only way to kill covid, there are safer alternatives. We’ve always tried our best to create informative materials on these things to help the public make the best decisions for their health.”

The company said it also supports local medical suppliers which have met the company’s rigorous standards for quality products.

In future, Aboud hopes that the company can further expand its services and become known as a household name that people can trust.

“Our main goal is to become a trusted name that puts you, the client, first. The most important thing for us is to be known as a protector of health, a company our clients can rely on.

“So they know when they come to us they’re getting products that are medically certified, quality tested and of the best quality. ”
